Cheryl Cole

is reportedly being eyed for a return to The X Factor UK judging panel next year after being told to "name your price" by boss Simon Cowell.
The 'Call My Name' singer left the show after the 2010 series for an ill-dated stint on the US version of the show, and Simon is said to be keen to have Cheryl return to the ITV1 show after flagging ratings for the current series.Capfm
"He's desperate to get Cheryl back on X Factor UK because it's lost its way," a source revealed to The Sun this week. "The money on the table would be a fortune - at least double what she got last time.
"She could have what she wanted," they explained. "He doesn't want to see X Factor going down the way it is and he thinks Cheryl is the next best thing to him."
This week it has been reported that Simon is also impressed with new X Factor UK panelist Nicole Scherzinger after she has proved a hit with viewers, while Gary Barlow has cast doubt about his future on the show after admitting he is unsure of a return in 2013.

The Wanted

The Wanted
Download star Max George. As we previously reported, the Liz & Dick actress was taken into custody after having a fight at Club Avenue - where she was arrested for third degree misdemeanour assault over claims that she struck an unidentified woman.
TMZ has since obtained a video of Lindsay's arrest, where the 26-year old can be heard asking cops "are you kidding?" as she is escorted into a police vehicle.
A source has now claimed to the website that LiLo had attended Justin Bieber's New York show on Wednesday (28th November) especially to see The Wanted, but was blocked from meeting the boyband backstage.MTV
She is then said to have joined Max, Jay McGuiness and Tom Parker at their hotel bar before going to the club - where she apparently clashed with another woman, who was speaking to George.
The incident is then said to have occurred with Lohan allegedly hitting the woman before trying to leave the club, where she was eventually arrested outside.
An insider went on to claim that Max was 'turned off' by the episode and did not leave the venue with LiLo or the other woman involved.
It is thought that Lindsay has now been released from police custody and has been given a desk ticket for a court date.
Representatives for Lindsay and The Wanted are yet to comment on the fresh accusations, but George did appear to reference the incident on Twitter, writing: "Eventful night!!"

Rihanna

Rihanna
has announced the title of her new single.Download
Despite reports suggesting that Chris Brown collaboration Nobody's Business could be the next cut from her seventh studio LP Unapologetic, RiRi has confirmed Pour It Up will be her forthcoming official single.
The Bajan babe has also unveiled the artwork for the track, which sees her posing topless while holding a dollar bill over her mouth. The star's Egyptian goddess Isis tattoo can clearly been seen under her breasts, while she sports a beanie hat over her long hair. MTV

Take That

Gary Barlow
has confirmed that Take That will record a new album in 2013.
The X Factor judge has told The Mirror the man-band will return to the studio in February, with the hope of their latest effort hitting shops by the end of next year.
Barlow explained: "I have got a lot of Take That stuff next year and then, hopefully, a tour the year after. A new studio album feels right for us, it has always been in our minds.MTV
"The band cycles are obvious. Everyone wanted a year off this year, and now everybody can't wait to get back into the studio in February and that is what we are going to do. So, hopefully, an album for Christmas and a tour the following year."
He continued: "Mark [Owen's] solo album is out next year. I was talking to him about it earlier today, and he's very excited about it.
"Then at the end of 2013, there'll be a Take That album. We're far from over. We're all creative, we're singers and songwriters. There's plenty left in us, don't worry."
It is currently unknown whether Robbie Williams will return to record another TT record, with the Candy singer instead announcing plans for a 2013 solo stadium tour.

Adele

Adele
Download sophomore album 21 has reached yet another milestone, after breaking the 10 million sales mark Stateside.
Billboard has reported that the Rolling In The Deep singer's LP hit the figure in its 92nd week of release, meaning it is one of eight albums to achieve the goal within two years. The record - which boasts of hit single Someone Like You - has become the 21st album to shift 10 million units in the US since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.
21 has sold more than 28,000 copies over the past week across the pound, with its total sales now standing at a cool 10,020,000.
However, Adele still has a long way to go when it comes to beating the current highest-selling album in America to date.MTV
According to SoundScan's data, Metallica's self-titled LP - which was released in 1991 - still holds the title, after it sold around 15.8 million copies.
Here in the UK, Adele's 21 album slipped to No.42 on the official album chart, marking the first time it has fallen outside the top 40 since its release in January 2011.

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney
Download has recalled the moment when a "bloody jobsworth" pulled the plug on him and Bruce Springsteen this year.

The Boss' show at Hard Rock Calling in London's Hyde Park caused international outrage when McCartney's guest spot at the end of the show was cut short after the show overran its curfew. The incident has been cited by many as a contributory factor in Livenation quitting the historic site.

Now, in an exclusive interview with NME, McCartney has given his own version of events. He remembered: "Bruce, sort of, got in touch and said, 'do you wanna get up? We'd like you to get up'. I said, 'well, I don't know, I'll just come along to the show', so we’re in the side of the show in the wings, and he says 'are you gonna get up, man?', I said 'I don't know, maybe'. Then his roadie says 'I've got a bass for you, I've got a guitar, It's all tuned, it's ready to go' I go 'oh, you’re REALLY ready!'

"So they're all really ready to go, so, what have they rehearsed? He said 'Twist And Shout', and 'I Saw Her Standing There’. So at last minute, I sort of have to say, ‘yeah, I’ll do it, so I go on, and it’s great – they really have rehearsed it, and I’m the only one who sort of doesn’t know it, even though I wrote the bloody thing."

However, the thrill of the crowd soon took a turn when it turned out that the lengthy show had violated the strict curfews imposed under Livenation's licensing agreement with Westminister Council.

He continued: "So then they go to 'Twist And Shout', and I'm singing it, and someone had whispered 'we haven’t got any time, we can’t do it', but it was such a nice, yeah Bruce is going 'yeah come on, man' and Bruce is you know, he’s a do-er, a go-getter, so I was happy. ‘Yeah!’ We’re rocking away, all our monitors stayed on, so we weren’t really aware that the plug had been pulled on the audience, that you see on the youtube later, it’s all gone dead."

"And he’s singing, he’s gonna then go back and sing ‘Good Night Irene’, which I think was all dead, but we had a laugh again. You’ve gotta’ have a laugh, it would just be so terrifying if you didn’t so we just had a laugh afterwards, I was just apologetic like ‘I’m sorry, man, only in Britain!’. It’s the only place… you can’t imagine in New York somewhere like that, them pulling the plug, and it got everyone of course, so that was the big story. Everyone in America was going to me 'is it true, man? They pulled the plug on you and Springsteen?!' I'm saying ‘yeah, well, you know, just some guy: some bloody jobsworth!"

The Wanted

The Wanted
singer Max George has discussed his recent Twitter spat with One Direction's Zayn Malik - insisting he hopes to sort out their differences in New York next week.Download
As we previously reported, Max and Zayn clashed on the social-networking site after the 1D star appeared to call George "a geek".
Their heated exchange of tweets ended with Malik calling Max "chlamydia boy", with the I Found You singer adding: "Tell me you're problems without the 8 security in NYC.. The only problem I have with you is the s*** banter. Grow up son. (sic)."
With their showdown at the Z100 Jingle Ball in the Big Apple fast approaching on 7th December, Max has told a US radio station that he intends to sort out their apparent feud.MTV
Addressing their Twitter war, George explained to Radio 955: "I'm not sure what his problem is to be honest. It started off that I thought we were just having a bit of banter, but he seemed to get a bit serious.
"I tried to palm it off as being friendly again, but you can only take so many insults and eventually I just said, 'Alright listen - if you've got a problem, come and see me in New York when we're there doing a gig together and we'll sort it out'."
Referencing Zayn's STD jibe, Max's bandmate Jay McGuiness stated: "It's like when kids in the playground go 'Poo Breath!' - rarely has that kid actually eaten faeces. I think he was just taking a stab in the dark."
Max added: "I think he's probably just finished Sex Ed so he's like 'Yeah whooo'."

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson

has slammed The Mirror's Celebs on Sunday magazine for making her seem "obnoxious" in a recent interview.Download
The Catch My Breath singer had graced the cover of the publication, with the quote: "No one on the planet should be as famous as me" appearing alongside her image.
However, Clarkson has since accused the tabloid mag of misquoting her in the article, writing on her WhoSay page to complain that they had "twisted" her words.
She also addressed claims made in the piece, denying that she had suffered from the eating disorder anorexia.MTV
The original American Idol winner wrote: "Um ....wow, so a UK Magazine called The Mirror, Sunday Celebs edition, just put out an article on me and just to clear up the absolutely wrong so called quotes from me, I have never had anorexia nor did I ever say 'no one should be as famous as me'.
"I said in the interview, when asked about fame, that I have no desire to be as famous as Britney or Madonna. I said that kind of fame was too much for any person and that I have experienced a portion of what they deal with and that I didn't handle that well and I'm happy where I'm at in my career."
The Stronger hitmaker added: "Side note, I love when people take what you say and twist it to make you sound obnoxious and arrogant ....nice job Mirror."

Ollly-Mars

Olly Murs
will always be the man who finished second to Joe McElderry in X Factor 2009. However, whoever wins the short-term reality TV battle is not guaranteed to win the pop war.
And so, as Olly Murs will always be the man who finished second to Joe McElderry in X Factor 2009. However, whoever wins the short-term reality TV battle is not guaranteed to win the pop war.
And so, as McElderry drifts gently off into oblivion like a disconsolate Furby, Essex boy Murs sold-out his arena tour of 2012. His similarly sized 2013 trek will bear identical fruit.
Albums wise, he’s now on number three and he’s progressing more speedily than even his hastily convened fanbase might have predicted. How many decisions he makes for himself remains an unknown, as does how hard he works for his songwriting credits (11 from 12 songs here), but it’s all coming together.
For all its battalions of writers and producers, Right Place Right Time is a surprisingly coherent affair. Taking its cue from latter-day Take That and underpinned by military drumming, Army of Two is a pop thumper of the highest order. With a scarf-waving chorus peak-period Bon Jovi would have sold their souls to have written, Loud & Clear runs it close in the kitchen sink productions stakes.
Flo Rida offers a brief but engaging cameo on Troublemaker, and there’s a super-sweet innocence to the impossibly happy (and chaste) first date tale “with the girl I might love” that is What a Buzz. Elsewhere, Head to Toe is slightly more adult in content, and Murs offers a certain amount of gravitas on the dramatic, tubular-bells-assisted Dear Darlin’.BBCFullMovies

Katy Perry

and John Mayeare allegedly house-hunting together in Los Angeles.
Despite their romance appearing to be going strong, K-Pez's friends are apparently convinced that the Teenage Dream star is 'making a terrible mistake' by getting serious with the notorious womaniser.Even Perry's close showbiz pal Rihanna is thought to be 'wary' of John's reputation when it comes to his previous track record with women.A source told the newspaper: "John and Katy have decided to give it a proper go and want to find a place in LA to share.“But lots of people are willing them to fail. They row a bit and have quite a turbulent up-and-down relationship, despite it only being a few months old.The Sun claims that the couple - who have been dating for around four months - want to move in together in the few weeks and hope to be in a new rented pad by Christmas.MTV

They continued: "They are together virtually every day. They hang out at John’s place, cooking, watching movies and playing music.“Many of her friends are certain it will all end in tears. But that’s brought them closer in a way. It’s given them an ‘us against the world’ mentality.”“They take the odd trip away but generally they’re trying to keep it behind closed doors.”Katy is even thought to have introduced Mayer to her highly religious parents, and is said to have taken the singer/songwriter to her local church.“She acknowledges she rushed into it a little quickly, but she is determined to trust her instincts and follow her heart."The insider revealed: "Introducing John to her parents was a huge step for Katy and it proves she’s 100 per cent committed.
They added: “Despite what the cynics may think, she is looking forward to moving in with John and says she’s happier than she’s been in a very long time.”
Perry was previously married to Russell Brand for 14-months, while Mayer has been romantically linked with the likes of Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz.Moviecapital

Example

Example

Gleave repeatedly on Come Taste the Rainbow, the opening track of his fourth album.Download
And if this set is representative of said lifestyle, we must conclude that our hero will spend most of his final hours regretfully reflecting on his excessive drink and drug habits and settling scores against ex-partners. All to a banging stadium-rave-rock-grime-house-synth-techno-metal-pop sing-along soundtrack. What a way to go.
You’d imagine Gleave would be a little more upbeat considering last year’s Playing in the Shadows peaked at No.1 and spawned back-to-back chart-topping singles. But Perfect Replacement and Close Enemies are bitter ripostes to exes, while One Way Mirror makes the startling accusation, “You were frosty to me like I was Nixon”.
Yet ultimately, to misquote Shakespeare in Example’s trademark not-quite-poetic manner, you might think the lad doth protest too much. Such dark lyrical tropes have served him well in the past, and even the blokey-but-sensitive shtick of his lovably clunky, WTF rhymes are part of a well-honed musical formula.
But credit where it’s due – he provides something for everyone. Different elements to pull out for umpteen different remixes? Tick. Bits the girls can sing and the blokes can shout along to? Tick. Brooding rap section to keep it "real"? Tick.BBC
A few beefy rock riffs? Skream and Benga-assisted grimey techno squawks? Icy synth stabs and trancey beats for the ravers? Tick, tick, tick, and presumably, boom as the crowd goes wild. All that’s missing, strangely but mercifully, is a bit of grotesque Auto-Tune. With it, he’d fill up his 2012 pop bingo card with ease.
Yet underneath it all, songs like Say Nothing, Queen of Your Dreams and the title track are curiously reminiscent not of his hip hop roots or vintage dance music, but soaring 80s soft rock, albeit spattered with a gob full of glottal stops. As such, how can it fail?trick photo
“I need to make a fresh start,” he frets on Snakeskin.  Nonsense. You’re doing just fine, and you know it.

Led Zepplin

Led Zeppelin
30 years after they split. There had been desultory one-off reunions, but this O2 Arena show was the full monty. And now, for the best part of 20 million applicants who missed out on tickets for Greenwich, here is the official souvenir. Download
Available in a variety of varyingly priced packages, Celebration Day is an opportunity to witness the power and the glory of Led Zeppelin, quite possibly for the last time, and they certainly don’t disappoint. “There are certain songs that have to be played,” Robert Plant admits here, before a shrieking ride through one of the best back catalogues in rock.
There’s a scorched-earth take on Dazed and Confused, then the band harnesses its considerable energy on Ramble On, Black Dog and Rock and Roll. By the time they get to Whole Lotta Love you could swim home on the testosterone.
But there was always more to Led Zeppelin than amps that went up to 11. You think you’d groan, but Stairway to Heaven is curiously affecting (“Hey Ahmet,” grins Plant afterwards, “we did it”), while Kashmir has the relentless drive and authority of an invading army.BBC
In My Time of Dying and Nobody’s Fault but Mine display Plant’s strengths as a singer, and the band’s empathy with the music which so inspired them. Truth be told, some of the Jimmy Page solos go on longer than The Archers, but to hear that potency harnessed and unleashed is undeniably impressive. Surprisingly, the star of the show is the drummer, young Jason Bonham. The sheer physicality of his playing is awesome and exhausting
Following their split, Led Zeppelin have always been protective of their legacy. Celebration Day is a fitting addition to their history. Experienced in conjunction with Barney Hoskyns’ eye-opening new biography, Trampled Under Foot, this is a powerful reminder of just what made Zeppelin fly. Now, do excuse me… I think I can hear Valhal

Rihanna

RIHANNA

Download will be furious when she finds out RITA ORA has bagged a film role she had been earmarked for.

The Bajan — whose new album Unapologetic went straight to No 1 this week — had been lined up to play the villain in upcoming blockbuster The Fast And The Furious 6.The Sun

But now it’ll be Rita in the limelight in supercars, alongside VIN DIESEL and DWAYNE “THE ROCK” JOHNSON.
A source said: “Rihanna impressed movie bosses with her role in Battleship. But schedules didn’t work out and Rita really shone during castings. They loved her look and her attitude.”
Rita’s spokeswoman refused to comment last night. But it’s another thing for Rihanna to whinge about when she has a meeting with their boss, JAY-Z.
A source said: “At first Rihanna thought Rita’s ‘copycat’ act was sweet. But she kicked off after seeing the red dress Rita wore to the VMAs. The umbrella prop annoyed her too.”
If I were Rita, I wouldn’t give two hoots what Rihanna thinks — especially as it’s Rita’s birthday today.
The Jigga Man doesn’t seem worried either. He’s given Rita a personalised Rolex watch worth about £30,000.

Rollingstones

Rolling Stones

gig at London's O2 Arena, part of the British rock band's 50th anniversary tour.  Download

Keith Richards has said that the beauty of rock n roll is that every night a different band might be the world's greatest. Well, last night at the O2 Arena, it was the turn of the Rolling stones themselves to lay claim to the title they invented. And they did it with some style and panache."Its been an amazing journey" Mick Jagger said of the Stones career. "Fifty years to get from Dartford to Greenwich". The joke being, of course, that this is but a 15 minute bus ride to the rest of us. But its fair to say the Stones have taken a bit of a roundabout route on their journey from raw blues obsessives to veteran superstars.TG
An expansive two and a half hour set opened with a trio of early Beat boom hits, featuring Mick in a trilby, mincing and posturing in almost pastiche style as he pleaded "Ah wanna be your luuuuuveah babee" over Richards' juicy resonant chords, Charlie Watts driving it simply and effectively with a bouncing beat. In this age of tribute bands, it was a bit like the Stones paying tribute to themselves. But it darkened with a riffing Paint It Black and then started really storming with Gimme Shelter. Two backing vocalists added richness and R'n'B superstar Mary J Blige came on to layer gospelly flair over Jagger's still ripping, harsh yet sweet vocals. Behind Jagger's energetic, camp performance, Richards and Ronnie Wood look like a pair of cadaverous buzzards, perhaps waiting for their hyperactive frontman to keel over. Standing side by side, Richards kept peaking over to see what Wood was playing, those guitars weaving together in mesmerising fashion, Woods flashier and faster, Richards sensitive and deft, while Watts pounded out the groove.
It is at this intersection of showbiz flashiness and wild rock that The Stones enter a realm of their own. Sympathy For The Devil was phenomenal, Tumbling Dice a rip roaring treat, Jumping Jack Flash a rocking blast. Alongside a flashy turn from Jeff Beck, there were guest appearances by two old Stones, bassist Bill Wyman welcomed with nostalgic warmth but guitarist Mick Taylor greeted like a returning God, albeit a rather rotund one.DubTurbo
There must be something about being in the Stones that keeps weight off. Jagger, Richards, Watts and Wood remain whippet thin and surprisingly healthy while Wyman and Taylor look like they have spent their decades out of the band eating all the pies. But Taylor can still play like a silver streak and the time-shifting blues jam of Midnight Rambler was incredible to behold, with Jagger as harp blowing blues conductor and three guitars tripping in and out of each other's space to hypnotic effect.

Pete Doherty

Pete Doherty
has talked about his relationship with Amy Winehouse, and has revealed he was in love with the late singer.Download
Speaking to the Daily Mail in a Parisian café, The Libertines man told the newspaper that he and Amy Winehouse were once lovers, but said that their relationship ended sourly.

A tearful Doherty said: "This is difficult for me to admit. But, yes, it's true. Amy and I were lovers. I loved her then and, well, I still do today. But towards the end, as only lovers can, she became quite mean and cruel to me. She didn't suffer fools…and believe me, she had a mean right hook."

Doherty went on to say that he believes the pressure of being famous ultimately led Amy Winehouse along the path to alcohol and drug addiction, saying she was "physically small and increasingly frail".

"She came back to my hotel after the Libertines reunion warm-up gig at the Forum in Kentish Town in August 2010", he said. "When she left the hotel, the paparazzi followed her. It brought back unpleasant memories of when I was with Kate and how they would follow us around everywhere."NME

He continued: "Amy couldn’t step outside her front door without a mob of about 30 blokes thrusting cameras at her. If you then include crack in the equation, it becomes a real killer – especially as Amy didn’t do things by halves."Buy Amy At the BBC

The Libertines singer said that he a written a song about the late singer. Titled 'Flags From The Old Regime', the song, according to Doherty, is like nothing he has ever written before as it's "very slow and melodic".

Meanwhile, Doherty has also spoken out about the death of actor Mark Blanco, who died after suffering severe head injuries after falling from a balcony at a party attended by The Libertines man.
